Amsterdam May 7th: IPOS Technology wins the ‘Game Changers Startup Competion’ at Sports Analytics Conference in the Johan Cruijf Arena. The conference provided a full day with three parallel tracks on all the good things that sport technology has to offer athletes. A lot of the sensor technology focusses on soccer. It was amazing to see the data that is gathered via video and simple trackers.
Joost, IPOS’s lead developer declares: “It was my first conference in many years where I didn’t know anyone (compared to the Java and Scala conference I often attend). I had not expected there are already so many companies working with sports and IoT (or ‘Tech’). It was great to see that Dutch companies are apparently very good in it too. We were very impressed by companies like SciSports, XSense and Johan Sports.
NOC*NSF’s Bernadet van Os reflected on the Olympics of 2016 and how data has helped athletes in preparation of the games. But she also presented the plans for 2020 an made an open invitation to all technology developers and new businesses to demonstrate their goods at a demonstrationday held on June 18 in Papendal Arnhem. So that also for the games of 2020 in Tokyo the Netherlands can bring their A game.
