STARTUPS-TO-WATCH: THE WINNERS OF THE GERARD & ANTON AWARDS
Hundreds of startups in the region – but only ten of them are ready for a Gerard & Anton Award. The jury explains why IPOS is one of the 10 start ups to watch:
“Equestrian sports are about perfect communication between humans and animals. But that communication does not happen by itself. Misunderstandings can not only lead to lesser results, they can also be at the expense of the welfare of the horses. With the IPOS rein sensors you get more insight into what you do. Insight with which you can improve your performance but also better monitor the welfare of your horse.”
The ten startups that received a Gerard & Anton Award wednesday evening as the most promising startups to watch this year are convinced that the Eindhoven ecosystem has made an important contribution to their success so far. In particular, access to expertise in technology is a big advantage.
Innovation Origins celebrated the most interesting startups from Eindhoven and its surroundings for the fifth time. The jury, under the guidance of former alderman Staf Depla, has a good eye for business potential. This is supported by the fact that of the 40 startups awarded in the past years only 2 had to stop due to lack of results. That is an unprecedented low percentage in the startup world, where usually only a small part can keep the head above water for a long time.
